Wisconsin pharmacist accused of tampering with COVID-19 vaccine has license suspended
GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) — Steven Brandenburg, the pharmacist accused of intentionally tampering with nearly 60 vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at a Grafton hospital, has had his license suspended.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Brandenburg is currently not eligible to practice.
Brandenburg was fired from Advocate Aurora Hospital after admitting to intentionally removing more than 500 doses of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine from refrigeration.
He was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, altering a prescription drug and criminal damage to property.
Brandenburg made his first court appearance on Jan. 4.
The DA noted that Brandenburg is an admitted conspiracy theorist who told investigators he believed the vaccine was unsafe and could change people’s DNA.
