RFK Jr. Ripped by Critics After Claiming He’s Investigating Chemtrails: ‘F*cking Moron’

Critics took to the internet on Thursday to roast Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after he claimed he was “looking at chemtrails” during an anti-vaccine group’s conference.
Kennedy was speaking at a Washington, D.C. gathering organized by Children’s Health Defense, a group he chaired from 2015 to 2023. Promising the crowd that he planned to provide “science transparency” to their vaccine skepticism, the HHS secretary continued, “We’re also looking at chemtrails and the impact of emissions from aircraft, and those potential impacts on health,” before receiving major applause from the crowd.
Kennedy has long promoted debunked vaccine misinformation, including claims linking vaccines to autism and questioning the safety of the combined MMR vaccine, which an August executive order signed by President Donald Trump called for eventually splitting into three individual shots.

Medical experts have maintained, though, that the combined MMR vaccine is safe and effective and warned that separating the shots could leave children unprotected from the diseases for longer periods. Not to mention, studies have repeatedly shown there is no link between vaccines and autism.
Chemtrails are similarly a widely discredited conspiracy theory claiming that the white trails left behind by airplanes contain chemicals deliberately released into the atmosphere. As scientists have explained, the visible trails are contrails — clouds of ice crystals formed when hot aircraft exhaust meets cold air at high altitudes.
Between Kennedy’s chemtrails remark and the U.S. facing its worst measles outbreak since 1992, it’s no wonder that critics online were quick to seize on his comments.
“What an absolute, f*cking moron,” Democratic strategist Jon Cooper wrote.
The Atlantic’s Tom Nichols added, “Even some of the most right wing ‘let’s own the libs’ people around here have to be rolling their eyes at how stupid this is.”
Former tennis star Martina Navratilova also chimed in with, “How about making the food supply safe first?”

Why don’t you look at something real like the unprecedented number of unsafe foods being recalled or the largest measles outbreak in decades? https://t.co/CcUgV0l8Yh

Feels like a real “dog that caught the car” moment to talk about this when you’re actually in power. What happens when you can’t actually stop condensation from forming in the sky? https://t.co/DfjuQeya0D

Oh my. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is investigating “chemtrails.”
So apparently it’s time for some middle-school science:
Jets fly high. It’s REALLY cold up there. Hot, moist exhaust hits cold air. The water condenses and freezes into tiny ice crystals.
That… https://t.co/JOZzmOewdD
