DOJ briefly published Epstein document with unsubstantiated claim that Trump hosted ‘calendar girl’ parties

Claim:

In January 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice published, and then removed, a document that contained allegations that President Donald Trump hosted “calendar girl” parties where late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein would bring children to be auctioned off and Trump would “measure” their genitalia.

Context

Snopes verified that the DOJ published and then removed this document, and we did not investigate the legitimacy of the accusations themselves. The allegations stemmed from an unverified, anonymous message to the FBI. They were unsupported by any credible evidence.

Editor’s note: This article contains graphic descriptions of sexual abuse.

In early 2026, a rumor circulated online that the U.S. Department of Justice published, and then removed, a document containing unsubstantiated allegations that President Donald Trump previously hosted so-called “calendar girl” parties at Mar-a-Lago, his property in Florida, where he sexually trafficked and abused children.

The claim spread following the late-January release of files by the federal government related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to allegations in the document, Epstein would provide children and Trump would measure their genitals and “auction them off.”

Iterations of the rumor appeared on X, Facebook and Reddit (archived, archived, archived). Some posts shared images of the in-question document with the allegations, with several social media users claiming the alleged removal suggested the Trump administration was attempting to obscure its contents from public view.

For example, one X user wrote, in part (archived): “Horrific, repulsive allegations of child sex abuse by Trump in the latest release of the Epstein files. DOJ promptly removed from website!”

Several Snopes readers contacted us and searched our website for more information about the rumor that the DOJ removed the document.

In short, that claim was true. The DOJ posted and later removed a document that included allegations of child sex trafficking and abuse against Trump, according to archived web pages.

An archived version of the department’s website shows the document appeared on Jan. 30, 2026, as part of numerous documents related to Epstein. Later that day, the DOJ removed the in-question document from its site.

The allegations stemmed from an unverified, anonymous message to the FBI. They were unsupported by any credible evidence.

It’s unknown why the department removed the document from public view, and for how long, exactly, it was up. When we asked the DOJ about its removal, the agency directed Snopes to a statement about the Epstein files generally that did not address our questions. We inquired further and will update this article if we receive answers.

In addition to the archived version of DOJ’s link with the document, Rep. Seth Moulton, a Democrat from Massachusetts, also saved a copy.

Allegations stemmed from anonymous FBI message

The allegations appeared in a table in the in-question document.

That table was part of an email exchange that began Aug. 6, 2025, and ended the next day. The emails included an employee with the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC), a department that receives tips and complaints. The NTOC employee’s name was redacted in the document.

In the email chain, an FBI assistant special agent in charge in New York, whose name was also redacted, asked whether the agency had followed up with tipsters making the allegations in the table. The agent asked whether they had completed “302s” — forms the FBI uses to summarize interviews.

The NTOC sender then shared a new table that included an extra column with details on whether, and how, the FBI followed up on the potential tips from people.

The allegations about so-called “calendar girl” parties appeared in the last entry in the table (Page 4), highlighted in yellow for its salacious nature, according to the NTOC employee. It read:

Donald Trump, the president, had parties at Maralago called “calendar girls” Jeffrey Epstein would bring the children in and trump would auction them off. He measured the children’s vulva and vaginas by entering a finger and rated the children on tightness. The guests were elder men and included Elon Musk. Don jr. Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump were there. Attorney Allan Dershowitz was also there with Attorney Bob Shapiro. We were taken in rooms, forced to give oral sex to Donald J Trump. Forced to allow them to penetrate us. I was 13 years old when Donald J Trump raped me. Ghislaine Maxwell was also present.

The table included a “response” column to supposedly document contact information for people contacting the FBI.

However, the person who submitted the above-transcribed allegations did not provide contact information, according to the email thread. Because of that, the FBI said in the exchange that it could not follow up with the person to try to investigate the accusations.

The White House’s response to the accusations

One Instagram post, referring to the allegations, repeated the claim that prominent people such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Trump’s children supposedly attended the “calendar girl” parties (archived). The post’s caption read:

Epstein files tip claims Trump had ‘Calendar Girls’ parties at Mar-a-Lago where Epstein would bring children to be auctioned off, with guests including elder men such as Elon Musk, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, Attorney Alan Dershowitz, and Attorney Bob Shapiro (and Ghislaine Maxwell also alleged to be present in related acts).

We reached out to the White House and Trump’s three children for their response to the claims. Trump’s children did not respond to our inquiries, and the White House referred us to the same statement as the DOJ. It read:

Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.

Shapiro, who also was named in the anonymous message to the FBI, said via email that the allegations were “total nonsense.”

“I have been to Mar a Logo only once years ago for the wedding of Ivana Trump with my wife,” Shapiro wrote, adding that he met Ivanka Trump there, too. “Years ago I met the President briefly at the American Embassy in Paris. Other than Alan [Dershowitz] I have never met any of the other people.”

We also contacted other people named in the message to the FBI: Musk, Dershowitz and Maxwell (via her attorney David Oscar Markus). We will update this report if any of them respond.
