Charles Manson’s role in the 1969 murders shocked America, but journalist Tom O’Neill spent 27 years investigating questions that went far beyond the official account. His research uncovered connections between Manson’s parole officer, a San Francisco medical clinic that studied his followers, and psychiatrist Louis Jolyon West, whose earlier work was linked to the CIA’s MKUltra program. The video also examines how the CIA secretly experimented on unsuspecting Americans using LSD and other techniques before ordering most MKUltra records destroyed in 1973. In June 2026, O’Neill testified before Congress about his findings and the possibility that Manson had been connected to intelligence research. Although no surviving official record proves Manson was an MKUltra subject, the documented connections raise questions about government oversight and the experiments conducted during the 1960s.
